Overseeding is a turf maintenance process which sees application of additional grass seed to an existing lawn.

Many of our lawns, even healthy lawns, have bare patches. Some patches are larger than others and are visible from a distance, while others are much smaller and would require you to look closely to see.
By overseeding, we fill in these gaps in your lawn to give you a much thicker canopy. A thicker canopy accomplishes three main aspects of a healthy lawn:
Chokes out weeds
Retains more moisture meaning less frequent watering requirements
Higher resilience to heat and disease

Overseeding is a fairly simple process which requires the use of a broadcast or drop spreader for application. It is best to prepare the turf by cutting shorter than usual so that the grass seed is able to fall deep down into the grass, making contact with the soil. Alternatively, commercial overseeders are available for rent from some big box stores or outdoor equipment rental locations, but certainly are not necessary to get the job done.
